I am a active member of linkedin, xing and very clearly know these sites are for a professional to promote his career with classmates and colleagues to reunion etc. orkut, facebook, myspace and other social networks are to connect with friends and have fun. Where can i list my business and promote my business? is there any specific business networking site?
No too sure of any sites other than the ones you listed but, take a look at this link. May provide a starting point or some additional direction for you to take.

I have invited a few people in the past to connect with me, however I got a couple of "I don’t know this person" answers, which restricted my profile on LinkedIn. I was just wondering how can I connect to people without my account being suspended….I cannot send In mails, unfortunately.
I would appreciate your help.
i don’t think it is possible,
Unfortunately, many people feel uncomfortable in the networking process. They tend to feel unknown how to start, are too shy to attend events alone, don’t feel comfortable starting a conversation and don’t know how to maximize benefits of networking.
Hey,
Recently, i’ve been using http://meetup.com to find business or entrepreneur related groups in my local area. I only went to one, but I managed to network with 2 people I intend to maintain a relationship with.
It sounds difficult, but when all of you are searching for business networking, it makes the process much easier.
Best of luck!
I would prefer that connections in linkedIn (a social network) are NOT viewable UNLESS they join my network. I don’t want to inadvertently give out information of friends, colleagues and associates to anonymous persons.
I just tried and, no, I can’t view anyone’s connections directly on the website. But I would trust K W above, as I am a paranoid.
